So, I slept in a little today. OK, fine! I slept in A LOT! So much that I was late to our brunch this morning.

My mom made pancakes that I couldn’t eat so I was starving by the time I got to Magnolia’s. The menu was so easy to read and being half asleep helped me pick out something that I have been craving for, Eggs Benedict! Oh, but wait! My lazy eye caught on to something even better, CRAB CAKE BENEDICT?!!!! I mean sure, why not! “Let’s live a little!” Here, come a little closer to the screen so you can hear me whisper in your ear through my post! It was mmm, mmm… GOOD! It was made with two poached eggs, English muffin, arugula, and mustard Hollandaise and was served with home fries and “Seasonal Fruit.” The crab was so delicious and mixed in with the creamy/buttery/lemony mustard Hollandaise, it was exactly what I needed. I would have honestly had a few more. It was like I was back in New Orleans at this little buffet on Bourbon Street that I can’t remember the name of. I’m pretty sure New Orleans had fresher crab, but I was so hungry that it tasted as good as that. So, note to self: “When food tasting, don’t go hungry so that you can make a better judgment of what goes in your mouth!”

Anyway, the whole thing was nice and tender and it melted in my mouth. It’s been so hard to write this review without “stuttering,” I keep repeating the same words over and over. Also, I normally prefer my fries soft and mushy, but I guess I was an “extra crispy” girl today. After finishing off my own, I had to steal Marianne’s unwanted fries. And I’m happy to report that for once in my life, the fruit served at a restaurant actually tasted like real fruit. Enough said!

As if I wasn’t enough of a fat-ass, I had to fill in my sweet void. I asked for some dessert. But they didn’t have that on their brunch menu. The closest thing to it was their Belgian Waffles, sprinkled with powdered sugar and your typical maple syrup. They were warm and tender but nothing groundbreaking. Void semi filled!
