Pan Seared Scottish Salmon, served with caper mustard beurre blanc, sautéed spinach with garlic, slivered almonds and lemon, along with whipped potatoes?!!! Yes, please! Or so I thought!
My favorite part about this dish was the mashed potatoes. Excuse me, I meant the “whipped potatoes!” The food was served on a hot plate, which is good because the place is so well air-conditioned that you better eat your food right away or else you might end up with frostbite, just warning you!
Anyway, the potatoes were good but I regret talking Marianne’s ear off about plans for my creative ventures this year instead of eating my food; it got cold real quick! While warm, they were savory and buttery; topped with some sort of sauce and what I think was shredded basil was a nice touch.
As for the salmon, it was way too salty for my taste. It was perfectly cooked but just not that great tasting. Something about it was just not for me and that’s pretty much all I have to say about that.
I only ate the spinach because Mariane said they were good for me. That was a reminder that I haven’t been eating greens lately, and it should probably be one of my summer projects. Eat more greens! But as for the slivered almonds, I enjoy almonds on their own or on a fresh salad but not on warm food, to be honest.
Overall, my main dish was middling. Not great, but not terrible either. Although I have to say respectfully, the Cheesecake Factory has a way better version than Nick’s. But the Cheesecake factory has shity servers tho. So, I guess it’s a no win situation for me there LOL.
