I’ll start by saying that the Redbird is not a new experience for me. The last time I was here was in 2022 for a birthday celebration. My own. It was dinner time and it was sort of a last-minute place. My friends wouldn’t let me pass that year without celebrating and this restaurant was one of the recommendations they sent my way. I wore a black blazer–as I was transitioning into an all-black wardrobe–paired with a faux pearl necklace that seemed to be trendy at the time. A “Grown up” dinner with “grown up” friends. It was a cute experience but as I was looking into this place, I was more curious about the brunch. I might’ve YouTubed a video on them before arriving. The garden seemed enticing enough to come back and see what that would be like.
Flash back to today. Marianne and I decided to try it out and so here we are! There are technically two sections to the restaurant for brunch. “The Lounge” and “Main Dining Room” Not the “Garden!” Apparently that is only available for “private” events, but whatever! I’ve seen the lounge at dinner and it’s beautifully lit, so I definitely recommend that, but for brunch it would have to be the Main Dining Room. It’s nice and bright, but I’d wear a light sweater or jacket in case they open up the retractable roof. It’s your trendy brunch place with white walls, a few potted trees sprinkled around, with a splash of color provided by the accent furniture.
It’s definitely a millennial hangout; mid 30’s to late 40’s. Not that I am aging anyone, but I seem to be doing that a lot anyway. I’m just a gay with “Peter Pan” syndrome, leave me alone!
